PENGGUNAAN PROTOKOL ROUTING OPEN SHORTEST PATH FIRST (OSPF) DI JARINGAN TCP/IP

Abstract

TCP/IP is a set of protocols used to communicate across the internet. In TCP/IP there is a protocol that deso the process of finding communication path. This protocol is called routing protocol. One of the routing protocols used on TCP / IP network is Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) protocol.

OSPF was designed and developed as a substitute for Routing Information Protocol (RIP), which proved to have many shortcomings when applied to large and complex TCP / IP networks. This protocol included is a link-state protocol. Each node will know the topology of the entire network because each node stores a copy of an updated network map on a regular basis. Based on his complete knowledge it in its network topology, it will determine the best path to be taken to a destination.

In this article writer makes a software that simulates the calculation of the shortest path first algorithm used by the OSPF routing protocol to find the best path based on the known network topology. Programs created using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0
